Dear Members:

“These are the times that try men’s souls.” These words were penned in 1776 by Thomas Paine in his pamphlet “Common Sense.” They still hold true today. People everywhere are facing troubles and hardships in many ways--loss of jobs, financial woes, uncertainty in our nation’s future, and many more.

All of this trickles down the Moose Fraternity and other charitable organizations. Membership is down, not only here at our Lodge, but throughout the Fraternity. Please ask your qualified relatives and friends to consider joining us in our noble cause of caring for our children at Mooseheart and our seniors at Moosehaven. Our lunches, dinners, and beverages are inexpensive. Many of our dinners that sell for $7-$10 would cost upwards to $25 in a modest restaurant. Check out the price of a glass of wine, beer, or mixed drinks at a local chain restaurant and you will see what I mean. While it has been very difficult, so far we have held our head above water and have kept the wolf from the door. However, some months
have been very close.

In conclusion, please help us in supporting our charitable endeavors. Remember, the purpose of our Order
is to help the community, youth, and seniors and to offer our members a place to safely gather and celebrate life.

Dear Members:

I hope everyone’s holidays were wonderful and I wish you all a Happy and Healthy New Year. I also extend a special thank you to all who participated in helping to make our holiday functions a success.

Now for some Chapter news. We are trying very hard to earn our “Award of Achievement” for this Chapter year. However, we are having difficulty in reaching our membership quota. It’s important for all of us to bring in new members—don’t you know someone (friend, co-worker, relative) who you can invite to join our Fraternity? Tell them about the wonderful benefits of a Moose membership—discounts are available on almost everything including car rentals, hotels, FTD florist, prescriptions, Sherwin Williams paint, Lasic surgery…the list goes on and on and increases daily (see Moose website for details). Why the amount you save on these discounts could actually pay for your dues time and time again. Not only do you benefit as a member, but the children at Mooseheart and seniors at Moosehaven benefit as well.
Take advantage of the various membership campaigns and bring in some new members without delay –
BE A PIECE OF THE SOLUTION.

On a final note, elections of officers are rapidly approaching. Please consider running for an office. We seriously need people to get involved. We can’t count on the same few individuals to keep the Chapter in existence or it could lead to our demise. Sign up today!
